You do not need to be in the same city to collab. Remote collabs are faster to set up, cost nothing in travel and are a low risk way to test whether you work well with someone. As of Oct 24, 2026, 182 creators on CollabPls were open to virtual collabs.
Types of virtual collabs
- Shoutout swaps. You each post about the other on the same day. The simplest place to start.
- Content trades. Each creator makes SFW teaser content the other can post, with credit.
- Joint livestreams. Go live together on a platform that supports guests. Plan 3 or 4 segments so it does not drag.
- Split screen or duet videos. React, answer questions together or run a challenge.
- Co-hosted posts. A Q and A thread or a giveaway you both promote.
How to set one up
- Find a fit. Look for a similar niche and audience size. On CollabPls creator search, filter for creators open to virtual collabs, or post a virtual collab call.
- Verify them. Remote does not mean skip the checks. See how to verify a collab partner is real.
- Agree the details. What each person makes, when it posts, where, how credit works and any split. The legal templates can help.
- Pick a time. Post when both audiences are online. Mind time zones.
- Follow up. Share results with each other. If it went well, plan the next one, or meet up when you are in the same city.
Tips that help
- Send a short brief with links to examples of what you want.
- Test audio and lighting before a joint live.
- Keep the first collab small. A shoutout swap tells you a lot about reliability.
